Welcome

The University of New Orleans currently hosts almost 800 international students, faculty, and staff from about 90 countries. The Office of International Students and Scholars provides comprehensive immigration advising, programming, and support services to all international students and faculty and their dependents. We work with faculty and administrators to build friendship agreements with foreign universities, and we assist international student organizations in planning activities such as International Night and cultural tea hours.

REMINDER TO UNO FACULTY AND STAFF: INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE VISITORS, EMPLOYEES AND GUESTS ON CAMPUS

This is a reminder that all faculty and staff are expected to be familiar with and to comply with University of New Orleans and LSU System policies and procedures regarding international employees and exchange visitors. Links to information on sponsoring J-1 exchange visitors and employees, hiring H-1B specialty occupation workers, as well as relevant UNO and LSU System policies are available at http://oiss.uno.edu/departments.cfm .

A new policy regarding the use of University resources, including, but not limited to, office space and/or computer access, by international visitors to the UNO campus will be posted soon. In the meantime, the use of University resources by any international guest or visitor requires the written approval of the cognizant department chair, dean and Associate Provost Merrill Johnson in Academic Affairs prior to the visitors' arrival on campus.
