Are you ready?

International students who work are  not  exempt from filing income tax forms – even if the U.S. has a tax treaty with the country of origin. If you are an international student who needs help filling out your tax forms, come to one of the tax sessions. Dr. Reid from the Accounting department and members of Beta Alpha Psi will be there to help.

Please make sure to be punctual . Be sure to bring your  W-2 formspassport, and your  Form 1042-S  (if you have one).  You will also need to bring the1040NR-EZ tax form to the session. You can print a copy of the form by clicking on the following link:  http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040nre.pdf  Please do not wait until the last minute to file your return.

Students who will receive refunds should bring a voided check if they want to get direct deposit.  This is highly recommended as it is much faster and safer.  Also, for those students who will owe money, there is no option to pay by credit card, only by check.

Note:    You may want to use the University of Texas tax website for information on U.S. tax treaties with other countries:
